This is a good story, well told, but I think the amount of mileage you will get out of it depends on your personal tolerance for the misunderstanding/ lack of communicating tropes.  If you have a high tolerance for that, then go nuts and you'll enjoy this story greatly.  If not, you will probably find it more than a little frustrating in some areas.
