Rocks on Wistful Summer
We've all had that one fleeting thought; wondering "what if it all worked out" or faced the ice-cold wave of realisation that washes over you at the acceptance of the innevitable.
Wistful Summer really lives up to the name in both plot and art.
Complex with more depth than I anticipated! A funny dive into the nuances of introspection and unrequited love.
Very bittersweet and cathartic to the end. All the characters had great dimension and personality. You can feel the personal and intimate headspace from which the author wrote with the thoughtful and honest dialogue. Some parts were weaker than the others and some parts took my breath away.
I usually shy away from love triangles like this, but the almost word-vomity candid perspectives kept me on board.
Art: Decent! You can definitely tell where it was rushed, but it was competent throughout.
Plot: Kind of utopia world, but the characters felt rather grounded.
Overall: Whether you agree with the end or not, it's a rollercoaster that I would ride again.
If you're like me and needed a spoiler for endgame bc you have the self restraint of a crackhead at an escobar party:
