worth the reading, you can see traumatic past experiences, sh*tty personality at first but then you can also see character development, there aren't any adult scenes but wish there were, forget it, read till the end otherwise it's just waste if you are reading it and just because something is not going according to your expectation you quit

Pretty entertaining, although it's a little frustrating that all the FEMALE except for one consort is absolutely useless aside from talking and scheming all day long.
I know it's part of how ancient china palace drama works but it kinda downplay women in such a way that they can't do anything if they are not married to a high rank official.
