Pretty good on Hanma Baki
What could Baki be possibly about?
Simply put, Baki is on a journey to defeat his father who is the 'pinnicle of strength'. So the manga dives, explores, and theorizes what the 'strongest' technique in bouts/ tourneys against eachother.
However underneath the surface the manga explores topics and arguments on traditional masculinity using Baki as the counter argument. There are a bunch of topics branching from what it means to be a man. Fighting is simply a medium used to symbolize these expressions. These fight express traditions, social norms/labels, family expectations, interpersonal conflict etc.
Your life is in your hands not b/c it was given but b/c its yours to end. So live and fight for your beliefs until your dead, by then you'd have a technique worthy enough to fight Yujiro Hanma.
